Jacksonville: September 24 – 26, 1998

2nd_1998The second Florida Neighborhoods Conference, in Jacksonville, was held in conjunction with the city’s third annual Mayor’s Neighborhood Summit. Registration was for 800, but Hurricane Georges kept attendance at 475. Organization for the event was shared by city staff and neighborhood residents, with guidance from the state planning committee. Neighbors from 70 cities came to participate in 22 workshops, eight round table discussions and six neighborhood tours. Participants also helped build a local neighborhood.
