Manatee County: July 11-13, 2013

17th_2013Manatee County hosted the 17th Annual Florida Neighborhoods Conference at the Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors’ Bureau. More than 225 neighborhood leaders and volunteers from various throughout the State of Florida attended and experienced the hospitality and environs of Manatee County. The theme was “Live, Work & Play”. The conference kicked-off with an Opening Neighborhood Experience on the Riverwalk entertained by the music of the Youth Orchestra. The conference included 34 different workshops and 5 Neighborhood Experiences (Historic Palmetto, Lakewood Ranch, Ellenton, Beaches and the Riverwalk). There were four neighborhood/community tours: Recreating Downtown Historic Palmetto, Port Manatee, Neighborhood Building – City of Bradenton and an Evening at the Ca’d’ Zan.

FNC attendees had an opportunity to see and hear Kenneth Feld, Feld Entertainment CEO, about the relocation of their family oriented entertainment company to Manatee County and the positive economic impacts they will have in the community including employment opportunities, new residents, capital improvements, and business support. The 17th Annual Florida Neighborhoods Conference gave the participants a taste of living, working and playing in Manatee County and what makes it a great place to live and visit.
